The two technology retailers are running their "Wanted Elf's Wish and Win Sweepstakes" through January 6. Facebook users who post their Christmas wishes on the [Wanted Elf page][3] are eligible to win prizes, including a crack at a$500 gift card.
Lippy the Elf, who ran away from Santa Claus in order to pursue his own career in granting Christmas wishes, says on the page::
We really want this social campaign to incorporate everyone on Facebook and have it be fun for people of all ages. It's not often you have a chance to make a wish come true. And we appreciate the fact that we're in the position to make that happen by spreading the holiday spirit and making a few Christmas wishes a reality.
Some of the wishes already posted to the Lippy the Elf page include:
* I wish I had a laptop computer with camera and mic to give to my Big Sister for Christmas so the nieces and nephews and I could actually SEE her while we talk to her long distance.
* Lippy, I blew it for my wife's birthday and forgot to pick up a gift. I need to make up for it. A tablet for her this Xmas would be nice.
* Hi Lippy…I don't need a thing but my sister is about to lose her job. If I could afford to get her a pc with a 20 inch monitor or 17″ laptop along with a printer, I would.
