American Express Serve Digital Payment Platform Launches Facebook App

[![][1]][2]Serve, the digital payment and commerce platform from [American Express][3], debuted a Facebook application that allows users to send, receive, and request money without leaving the social network.

Users who want to send money via the [Serve app][4] can select the recipient from their friends list, which is automatically populated into the app's interface, and then choose the amount and click send.

Recipients will receive messages on their Facebook walls with directions on how to retrieve  funds and a link to sign up for [Serve][5].

And requesting money from Facebook friends is basically the same process as sending money.

American Express Group President of Enterprise Growth Dan Schulman said:

The way people exchange money is evolving, and so is Serve. We're constantly working to bring our customers a seamless and consistent payment experience -- one that makes sense for our increasingly social lives, whether that's paying a friend back for movie tickets, or sending someone money for your share of the vacation house -- it can now be sent on Facebook.
