Kingdoms of Camelot: Battle for the North assaults all iPhones, iPads

![][1] Be prepared to raise your defenses. [Kabam][2] has brought its first-ever mobile game, [Kingdoms of Camelot: Battle for the North][3], from [testing on the Canadian App Store][4] to the U.S. App Store and beyond. The game is available for free now on iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. This release marks the start of Kabam's mobile games strategy, as more games are planned for the spring.

"We listened when our players asked us to bring our style of gameplay to iOS so they can get the rush that comes with real time, synchronous MMO-style alliance battles right on their iOS devices," Kabam Mobile VP Matt Ricchetti said in a release. "We took care to create an experience that captures the essence of our strategy games while being tuned for fun and playability on a Multi- Touch interface-essentially, Kingdoms of Camelot: Battle for the North takes the best parts of the PC MMO experience and puts it right in your pocket."

Battle for the North amazingly manages to fit almost every option and consideration of the web-based, social strategy game into a tiny smartphone screen. And it all appears in a way that's easy to navigate and understand. Of course, the game's standard rules established on the web still apply: Players have seven days to prepare their kingdoms for invasions by building up their armies and researching new technologies and magic.

This version of Kingdoms of Camelot isn't cross-platform playable with the web version, and the game makes that clear with a brand new story that sees players fighting off the Picts that look to ravage their new found kingdom in the north. But just like before, players will have to join alliances to survive the real-time, large scale battles that await. In short, this is Kingdoms of Camelot tucked into your iPhone, so now you'll always have a reason to nerd rage.
