Journey designer Robin Hunicke leaves to help make Glitch even weirder

It seems like Canada-based [Tiny Speck][2], creator of free-to-play social MMO [Glitch][3], has a knack for picking up designers with the goofiest (but ultimately coolest) game ideas. [GamesIndustry International reports][4] the next in line to make Glitch an even zanier experience is Robin Hunicke, who left [Thatgamecompany][5], the studio behind best-selling [PS3][6] adventure Journey.

This is the second loss for the darling studio in days, but strangely enough just as its latest game breaks sales records on the PlayStation Network. Hunicke joins [Katamari Damacy][7] creator Keita Takahashi in work on the browser-based social game. In fact, Tiny Speck wrote in a blog post announcing the hire that she will "be providing leadership in game design."

It seems like it was a simple choice for the Journey maker to join Tiny Speck. "When they told me they had an office in San Francisco, where folks were joining up to imagine new fun for Glitch... well, I must admit I swooned," Hunicke wrote on her personal blog. Given Hunicke's experience in telling a story without any recorded dialog, we wonder whether she'll put those talents to work on Glitch.
