Newt Gingrich Turns To Facebook After Endorsement

[![][1]][1]Former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives [Newt Gingrich][2] has taken to Facebook to defend and promote his record in Congress following a major endorsement yesterday by the _New Hampshire Union Leader_ newspaper.

The endorsement comes 36 days ahead of the New Hampshire presidential primary.

Through Facebook, Gingrich has a platform to share the details of his 21st Century Contract for America, a revised version of the famous Contract for America that he drafted when the Republicans took over the House of Representatives and he was elected Speaker in 1994.

Gingrich has also added new applications to his Facebook page in the last week, including a "Wayin Debates" section, following the recent GOP presidential primary debate on foreign policy.

According to our 2012 [Election Tracker][3], the endorsement by New Hampshire's only statewide newspaper, along with Gingrich's recent [debate][4] performances, are reflected in a steady [rise][5] in his Facebook fan base.

The former speaker has added nearly 12,500 new fans in the last seven days, and almost 1,500 in the past 24 hours.

While Mitt Romney leads in overall fans among the GOP presidential contenders, Herman Cain and Newt Gingrich have all held the top spot in overall fan page growth at some point in the past 10 days.
