Facebook tests games-only News Feed, kind of like Google+ Games Stream

![][1] Just when we thought that it might be over, the battle between [Google+][2] and Facebook rages on. In this round, Facebook is testing a new activity feed that's exclusive to game content shared by your friends. In other words, the feature is a News Feed that only shows your friends' game updates such as, "Joe Osborne is playing VilleVille." [Facebook explains on its developer blog][3].

"The "Friend Activity" sub-menu sits directly beneath the "Apps and Games" bookmark in the left hand navigation and is accessible to users who visit the dashboard," [Facebook's Matt Wyndowe writes][3]. As of this writing, you can click on the "Apps and Games" sidebar button on the home page, which will reveal the sub-menu and thus a News Feed all about games. Google+ has employed a similar feature, the Games Stream, for some time on the "Games" page of the competing social network.

Facebook also revealed that the Games Ticker featured alongside all social games "has not been a substantial driver of traffic," according to Wyndowe. In short, the feature isn't working as intended, and Facebook is considering scrapping it altogether to explore other options to improve game discovery on the platform. Games are slowly becoming Facebook's bread and butter, so the experience can only get better from here, right?
